Woodhouse have been successfully delivering outdoor events for over 125 years and our marquees, trade stands, temporary stables are featured at UK equestrian events, agricultural shows, game fairs, country shows, festivals and sporting events. Due to a recent expansion we are looking for an Operations and Logistics Manager to join us based at our Head Office in Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire.
This role is to ensure the efficient delivery, installation and removal of our hire equipment and the efficient deployment of our labour crews. Ensuring safe, on time completion of all Woodhouse contracts on a national basis whilst maintaining our reputation for personal service and as a leading supplier of temporary stabling and trade stands across the major UK equestrian, agricultural and country and game fairs.

You will need to demonstrate experience of leading a team erecting and dismantling various temporary structures safely and within strict time constraints, continually assessing the ongoing position of the current contract that you are working on. You must be able to work on your own initiative as well as following instructions given to you. The ability to liaise with clients and colleagues in a polite and professional manner, remaining calm when under pressure, is essential.
You will have a full driving license and be an experienced forklift driver. A good working knowledge and understanding of current health and safety regulations and best practise is also required. You must be willing to work across the UK which will also include nights away especially during our peak season (during low season you will be mainly situated at our depot in Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire). Weekend work and early starts/late finishes should also be expected. Please be aware that this role will involve work that is physically demanding.

L H Woodhouse & Co Ltd are looking for motivated and reliable individuals with a good attitude to join us over our peak season (typically April through October). You will be working as part of a team led by one of our Foreman on our clients’ sites erecting and dismantling temporary structures including Trade Stands, Grandstands and Temporary Stables. You will be representing L H Woodhouse & Co Ltd and working in close proximity to our clients and must therefore behave and work in a professional and respectful manner. Please also be aware that this is a physically demanding role.
You must be willing to work across the UK which will also include nights away. Weekend work and early starts/late finishes should also be expected. Transport from our head office in Cotgrave to the sites will be arranged for you. Experience is not essential as full training will be provided but it would be an advantage if you were a forklift operator and/or held a C.S.C.S. card. A good working knowledge and/or understanding of current health and safety regulations and best practise would also be beneficial.
For the right individual with an excellent attitude who demonstrates themselves to be a quick learner with good initiative, there may be a long term opportunity to develop within the Woodhouse team.
The current starting wage is £7.20 per hour with hours worked over the weekend and on bank holidays paid at 1.5 times your basic hourly rate. You will also receive £13 (after tax) subsistence for each night away.
